About

Torgunn likes to make, mould, arrange and shape sound. She also likes almond pastry, the color green and light shattered through dewdrops and lots of snow in winter :o)) Her style of music is influenced by a diverse style of music, Eric Satie, Joy Division, Joni Mitchell(..love, love, love..), Eurythmics, David Sylvian, Velvet Underground, Billie Holiday and Cocteau Twins to name a few. Pretty much all kinds of music, tones and harmonies as long as it calls upon and catches the ear and the music heart.

TORGUNN performs live as a duo, with Joar Krakevik and Torgunn Flaten. Some of their music can be described as impressionistic, guitar based, melodic with own harmonic moods, layered sounds. Other tunes are more transparent, aiming towards  simplicity.

Torgunn fetched great reviews for her song and voice (Run 2005). A collaboration with Lindstrom & Prins Thomas on their debut album. In 2007 they made Days of Joy. Experiencing working with sound recording (EFP, electronic field production) out on locations and documentaries, there is no limits, only the sound is interesting, and can be of any use,- in some way :)

They haunt the symbiotic, etheric, organic and have a blend of several genres, in an available but personal expression.

In the studio at Kampen in Oslo there are high focus on recordings, producing and arranging on songs, using different tools from wherever and whatever e.g things from the kitchen. Experiencing working with sound recording for television( EFP) out on locations and documentaries, there is no limits, only it sounds interesting, and can be of any use. Torgunn has spend several years working with sound and video, making short-movies, documentary and animation- even painting and drawing.

She wrote the piece "Norma`s Ark" for Norwegian Television, NRK "Arkitektens hjem" a.o contributions for TV.
